Adam Miller (son of George Miller and Elizabeth Braxton)1 was born 1784 in Lincoln County, Ky1, and died 08 Feb 1849 in Crocus, Adair Co. Kentucky. He married (1) Levina Solmon Nelson. He married (2) Patience Whitson on 26 Dec 1808 in Adair Co. Ky by David Wells. He married (3) Jane Catherine Mason on 12 Jul 1841 in Adair Co. Ky.

Married 29 Dec 1808 Adair Co. Ky by David Wells to Patience Whitson.
This was his first marriage. Patience died 1832 at age 43. It is said
that his father George Miller came from Culpepper Co. VA and died in
Russell Co. KY and is buried in Aaron graveyard near Crocus KY.
1809 tax list Adair Co. KY: 104 acres on Crocus entered under Hugh
Kelso: 1002. (His mother Elizabeth follows)

1811, March 7 Adair Co. KY he bought 77 acres from Daniel and Hannah
Meredith, it being in Adair Co. on the waters of Crocus creek on the
head of a branch called Marvel it being part of a survey made by George
Miller now deceased who drew a certificate for the same in the year of
1807
July in the county of Green #194.
He an extensive farmer, distiller, and a slaveholder. Some of his
favorite slaves were buried in the family plot. He had considerable
wealth. Of Russell Go. KY. He was one of the most prominent men of
his day. "He lived to an advanced age and left his children in fine
circumstances."

Co. KY "our brother." 1833 an Adam Miller bought 197 acres from Jacob
and Polly Miller in Adair Co. KY on Crocus Creek (book H page

He seems to have written his will after his 1 st wife died and before he
married for the second time. It is dated 10 Dec 1834 Adair Co. KY
(book E page 326)
In the name of God, I Adam Miller of the County of Adair State of
Kentucky being now of perfect mind and memory do make and establish
this as my last will and testament revoking all others and declaring
this and this only to be my last will and testament.
First- My will is that after my death I be buried in a
decent manner
according to the Christian order and secondly that all my just debts
and funeral expenses be paid by my executor hereinafter named.
Third- That my personal property be sold and applied to the
payment
of my debts.
Fourth- that my son James Miller is to have 50 acres of land
off the
west end of the tract whereon I now live to be laid off so as to include
the dwelling house and outhouses where I now live, but in laying off
said
50 acres she shall not be compelled to go completely across the tract
but may have the same laid off as he choses.
Fifth My will and desire is that my negro girl Elvy now
about fifteen
year old her and her inclrease be and I do hereby bequeath to my
youngest daughter Patience.

bequeath to all my remaining children that I now
have not .
named, tHe residue of my estate both real and personal and mixed all
the balance of every kind whatsoever to be equally divided between them
or such of them as may be living at my death or to their legitimate
issue
but it is hereby clearly to be understood that my will is that all my
children sahll be equally provided for and if the land divised to my
son James shall be more than his just portion of my estate that after
its
value is ascertained he shall pay up to the othere if the same is more
than his just share and in like manner if the negro and her increase
shall
be worth more than the portion of Patience she is to pay in like
manner. Seventh- It is my will that the family remain
together
until some of
them should think fir to go elsewhere. My black people is to be kept
their for the use and benefit of my younger children and all my younger
children is my by executors to be educated in a common way and that
charge to be paid out of my personal estate.
In testimony whereof I do hereunto set my hand and seal this
10th day
of Dec. 1834 and lastly I appoint my trusty friend Wm. Owens of the
town of Columbia my sole executor. Adam Miller (his mark.

the said Jas. P. Miller, Jr. by his father Jas. P. Miller, Mar 31905.
The
said Jas. P. Miller, Jr. died without bodily heirs, this land descends
to his brothers and sisters.
