William Jr. lived next door......per 1820 census Hyde Co. He left a will.
He was a big landowner, had many slaves. He left 2 to each son...

His will states
wife Sally, Marcus Swindell (neighbor), Daniel Shaws(neighbor); Levine Rose and Little Nance (slaves); Dixon Swindell, first named son who gave land he bought from Josephus Wade and land on John Swindell's 300 acre patent and two Negroes, Caswell & Anson; William and Joseph Swindell who he gives land and Cason Gibbs and William his son. Also 2 Negroes Grace and Ben and his son; Joseph 2 Negroes Kelly & Eliza; his daughter Matilda Selby piece of land bought of Robert Jennette & Milby Tract joining Noah Biggs plus 2 Negroes Sam & Simon; also sell the Negroes Martin, old Nance Slade Codel and Ann . Will made 20 Feb. 1837 Deceased Feb. 1837.

He was married to Sarah Sally DIXON in 1799 in Hyde Co., North Carolina. Sarah Sally DIXON was born in 1782 in Hyde Co., North Carolina. She died in 1857 in Hyde Co., North Carolina. William SWINDLE Sr. and Sarah Sally DIXON had the following children:
