679. William Anderson SWINDLE was born on Jan 18 1834 in Benton Co., Tennessee. Humphreys County at that time. He died on Jan 26 1914 in Randolph Co., Arkansas. He was a Farmer & Trader. William Anderson Swindle was born in Tennessee. , Benton County, and married Angelina Smith on Nov. 10, 1850 in that area. Angelina was the daughter of William and Elizabeth Lewis Smith. They had 8 children. All of these children were aunts and uncles of Dr. W.T. Swindell. William was a farmer and trader by occupation. He volunteered in the war under General Jackson. He made application for a pension as a Confederate Soldier.
On Jan. 30, 1914 The Son Dr. William Thomas Swindle, gave a birthday party in honor of his Father, Uncle Billie Swindle's 80th birthday, in Arkansas, just a short time before he died.
William and Angelina were found living in Arkansas in 1860, and back to Benton County, TN., in 1870. The idea of William A. living in AR. and TE. both from time to time, indicates a reason for Dr. W.T. to move to Arkansas for a Medical Practice location. He must have known the area.
William A. had enlisted from ARK. in April or May of 1863, in the Confederacy. In his application for a pension, it states that he served under Capt. William Black and Colonel Shaver. He had battles in Missouri and Siloam, AR. He was wounded by a shot with a 'Mini Ball' through the wrist and into the back, in the battle in Siloam. He was furloughed, not discharged, in AR., until May 1864, when he returned to TENNESSEE.
He evidently lived most all his life in TE. and after Feb. 1911, he returned to AR. to live with his son Dr. W.T. or close to him, and died in AR. in 1914. Buried in Siloam Cemetery, Maynard, AR.

He was married to Angelina SMITH on Oct 11 1850 in Benton Co., Tennessee. Angelina SMITH was born in 1832 in Benton Co., Tennessee. She died about 1860 in Randolph Co., Arkansas. William Anderson SWINDLE and Angelina SMITH had the following children:

He was married to Mary LEWIS on Jul 20 1864. Mary LEWIS was born on Oct 6 1840 in Benton Co., Tennessee. She died on Aug 23 1905 in Randolph Co., Arkansas. William Anderson SWINDLE and Mary LEWIS had the following children:

1183 i. Arty SWINDLE was born on Jul 18 1865 in Randolph Co., Arkansas. He (or she) died on Aug 30 1889 in Randolph Co., Arkansas.
1184 ii. Ada E. SWINDLE was born on Jul 10 1871 in Randolph Co., Arkansas. She died on Nov 23 1871 in Randolph Co., Arkansas.
1185 iii. Isabelle B. SWINDLE.
1186 iv. Ida SWINDLE.
