170. Hollowell SWINDLE
was born in 1792 in Hyde Co., North Carolina. He resided in 1825 in Carroll
Co., Tennessee. He resided in 1843 in Gibson Co., Tennessee. He died in Jul
1847 in Gibson Co., Tennessee. He was a Carpenter & Farmer with a strong
interest in politics. A devoted Whig.. Was administrator of his fathers estate.
On 12/1817, Mose Swaim of Randolph Co., N.C. and Hollowell and John Swindell
of Hyde Co., N.c. sold their right to a negro girl JUDE "late the property
of Joshua Swindell" to his widow, Elizabeth Swindell.
In 1818 Howell moved to White Co., Tennessee but soon moved to Carroll Co. in
1825.
A devoted Whig, he eventually held several positions of trust including those
of magistrate and constable. he and Margaret had a strong religious faith and
were members of the Hollow Rock Primitive Baptist Church and their names appear
on a list of members for 1828.
He was married to Margaret Peggy WILLIAMSON
on Sep 9 1816. Margaret Peggy WILLIAMSON was born
in 1800 in Randolph Co., North Carolina. She died in 1838 in Carroll Co., Tennessee.
