married to Burt CHRISTIAN Sr. (son of Thomas Anthony CHRISTIAN
and George Ann POWELL) on May 14 1921 in Jasper, Walker
Co., Alabama. Burt CHRISTIAN Sr. was born on Feb 17
1900 in Tuscaloosa Co., Alabama. He died on Nov 21 1947 in Jasper, Walker Co.,
Alabama. He was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Jasper, Walker Co., Alabama. He
was a Carpenter & Coal Miner. Bert and a Church of God minister Rev. Holland
were killed in a car and train accident at McCalla, Alabama. Rev. Holland was
the paster of the Fifth Avenue Church of God, Jasper, Alabama. Bert was a charter
member of the same church. Burt helped build the church in the late 1930's or
early 1940's. Bert also helped build the Church of God Tabernacle in Sumiton,
Alabama in 1932 or 1934.
Bert and Lola Christian were in the Evergreen Orphanage for a while. Thomas Earnest
took Bert out of the orphanage and kept him till he was old enough to be on his
own. He was 14 when he left the orphanage. Minnie Lee SWINDLE and Burt CHRISTIAN

21 1922 or 1923. James Earl died of crib death. He was buried in Crossroads
Methodist Cemetery, Jasper, Alabama.

Jesse Willard CHRISTIAN was born on Dec 16 1924. He died on Sep 20 1931.
Burned to death, he was pouring kerosene on a fire. He was buried in Crossroads
Methodist Cemetery, Jasper, Alabama.

Burt "Junior" CHRISTIAN Jr. (photo) was
born on Feb 19 1926. He died on May 10 1984 in Birmingham, Jefferson Co., Alabama.
He was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Jasper, Walker Co., Alabama. He was an
US Navy, Retired. "Junior" saw all the worlds port cities while in
the navy. He said he sailed around the world 8 times while in the navy. He had
tatoos on his arms and chest. He was the chief chef for a naval fleet. He prepared
the menus. He retired from the navy after 20 years service and came back home
to Jasper, Al.
In Jasper he opened a BB Joint, but the business failed. Retired from Navy after
20 years service.

She was married to Gaines Robert SKINNER. Gaines Robert SKINNER (photo) was born on Jul 5 1895 in Alabama. He died on Nov 28 1972 or 1973. He was buried in New Prospect Cemetery, Jasper, Walker Co., Alabama. Mr. Skinner was married before he married Minnie Swindle. When "Junior" Christian, Minnie's son, came home from the Navy Mr. Skinner left. He went to live with some of his children by first marriage.
