Possibly born in 1814 or 1812, South Carolina. He appeared on the census in
1850 in Walker Co., Alabama. 35 in 1850. He was a Farmer in 1860 in Walker
Co., Alabama. He appeared on the census in 1860 in Walker Co., Alabama. He
appeared on the census in 1870 in Walker Co., Alabama. He died in 1879 in Matts
Mill, Walker Co., Alabama. He was buried in Matts Mill. He was Church of God.
Daniel was born in South Carolina and brought to Tuscaloosa while still a child.
He came to Walker Co. after his marriage and entered government land in Section
20, Township 15, Range 8, near Coal Valley on 01/29/1845.
Tradition has it that Dan had gone to Matt's Mill and was taken sick and died
and the creek was up and the people there did not know how long it would take
for the water to go down and he was buried near Matt's Mill. Do not know where
Matt's Mill was located but some say it was latter changed to King's Mill and
there was a cemetery on the hill before you get to King's Mill but it was destroyed
and all we could find was unmarked graves.
He was married to Caroline before 1837.
He was married to Jerusha (Jerutha sp?) Carolyn
ROBERTSON (daughter of Reuben ROBERTSON and
Melinda "Lindy" ATKINS) on Feb 1 1837 in Tuscaloosa Co., Alabama.
Jerusha (Jerutha sp?) Carolyn ROBERTSON was born on Apr 11 1822
in South Carolina. She appeared on the census in 1850 in Walker Co., Alabama.
33 in 1850. She appeared on the census in 1860 in Walker Co., Alabama. Census
shows age as 35. She died on Apr 4 1902 in Walker Co., Alabama. She was buried
in Lawson Cemetery, Walker Co., Alabama. Possible last name "Robinson".
