14. William SWINDLE Sr. was born about 1735 in Hyde Co., North Carolina. Possibly born in Albemarl Co., NC. He was Warrent Issued on May 28 1753. On May 28, 1753 a warrant was issued by George Turner, a Justice of the Peace, for his arrest. John Spencer alleged that William Swindell had miss marked a cow and marked another cow formerly belonging to him, John Spencer. He contended it was contrary to the peace to do so. The warrant states that William Swindell was to be found taken into custody to answer these charger. Ann Sanders, Josiah Swindell, and Caleb Swindell were someone to give evidence of what they knew of the matter. He resided Mattamuskeet Lake in 1757. He died before Aug 1785 in Hyde Co., North Carolina. He had an estate probated in Aug 1785. On 05/28/1753, a warrant was issued by George Turner, a justice of the Peace, for his arrest. John Spencer alleged that William Swindell had miss marked a cow and marked another cow formally belonging to him, John Spencer. He contended that it was contrary to the peace to do so. The Warrant stated that William Swindell was to be found and taken into custody to answer the charges. Ann Sadler, Josiah Swindell, and Caleb Swindell were summoned to give evidence of what they knew of the matter.

He was married to Dina (Dinah) about 1755 in Hyde Co., North Carolina. Dina (Dinah) was born about 1735 in Albemarie, Hyde Co., North Carolina. She died about 1810 in Hyde Co., North Carolina. William SWINDLE Sr. and Dina (Dinah) had the following children:

child47 ii. John SWINDLE was born on Feb 2 1760 in Hyde Co., North Carolina. He died after May 1834. John served three tours of military service in the N.C. Second Regiment of Militia, being drafted twice and volunteering for service once. His tours consisting of scouting the Pedee, Congaree and Wateree River in South Carolina, serving as a minute man to guard Cape Hatteras, the Oyster Hills and the town of Beaufort, and served to impede the British dragoons invading North Carolina in 1781.

In his pension application hr stated, "When I entered the service I lived in Hyde County, N.C. where I continued to live until I was 45 years old. I then moved to Orange Co., N.C.. I then moved to White Co., Tennessee and lived there about ten years and then moved to Humphreys Co., Tennessee where I now reside."

On 12/1817, Mose Swaim of Randolph Co., N.C. and Hollowell and John Swindell of Hyde Co., N.c. sold their right to a negro girl JUDE "late the property of Joshua Swindell" to his widow, Elizabeth Swindell.
