24. Joseph SWINDLE was born in 1748 in Hyde Co., North Carolina. He died about 1823 in Hyde Co., North Carolina. He signed a will on Apr 26 1823 in Hyde Co., North Carolina. He had an estate probated in May 1824 in Hyde Co., North Carolina. On may of 1828, Albin B. Swindell, Sr., purchased the rights of Joseph Swindell, Sr older children to 40 acres of land. In a petition by widow Sidney Swindell to divide 64 acres of Joseph Swindle's land, she, as guardian to Jennetta, Mahetable, Jordan, and Ophal, received 24 acres. The other 40 acres was divided to Albin B. Swindell in part of the former heirs: John Swindell, Margaret Sawyer (wife of Zephiniah), Ferebe Sawyer now deceased (former wife of John Sawyer), Fethah Sawyer (wife of John Sawyer), Eleanor Ward deceased (wife of Joseph Ward), Elitha Jones (wife of Hugh Jones), and Clarissa Wilkinson (wife of Daniel Wilkinson). The potation further stated that Frebe Sawyer had died leaving a daughter Keziah (wife of Edwaed Rose), and Eleanor Ward had died leaving her children Srephen, Jesse, Drusilla, and Littleton Ward. On Dec. 1829, there was a sale of the estate of Joseph Swindle (SR.). This sale was held at the "last dwelling house" of Sidney Swindle, deceased, so we know that the widow died between 1824 and 1829.

in 1750 in Hyde Co., North Carolina. She died about 1800 in Hyde Co., North
