35. Robert SWINDLE was born about 1758 in Hyde Co., North Carolina. He was baptized in 1808. He was Premitive Baptist in 1808 in Hyde Co., North Carolina. He signed a will on Apr 15 1823 in Hyde Co., North Carolina. He signed a will on 15 Apr 1823 in Hyde Co., NC. In the name of God Amen
I Robert Swindell of the state of North Carolina and County of Hyde being weak in body but of sound and disposing mind and memory blessed be to God Do make publish and declare this instrument of wrighting to contain my last will and testament

Viz; First I recommend my soul into the hands that Gave it and my body to be buried in Christian like manner and what worldly estate it hath been pleased God to bless me with I devise and dispose of in the following manner.

First I leave to my beloved wife Sally Swindell the one half of my plantation where I now live with all the privileges there to belonging during her natural life. I also lend her my horse and rocking chair and one beads and furniture her chair and all the kitching furniture and my horse carts and a negro woman by the of moreaer and one Linen Wheel the above lands given to my wife at her decease I give to my son Oliver Swindell the half of my chairs in the house I give to my wife.

Item I give and bequeath to my son W. G. Swindell one bead and furniture and one trunk.

Item I give and bequeath to my son Emmery Swindell one Beads and Furniture.

Item 4 I give and bequeath to my Daughter Mahala Swindell one Beads and Furniture and one trunk and one Linen Wheel.

Item 5 I give and bequeath to my daughter Prisilla Swindell one Beads and Furniture and one chest and linen wheal.

Item I give to my son Samuel Swindell one bead and Furniture and one chest.

Item I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Swindell one feather beads and furniture and one negro woman by the name moreaer after the decease of my wife and one hundred dollars in cash.

Item I ______ that out of the crop and _______my wife and family all have one years support and the rest of my hose mill. so long as they keep her up in goods order

Item all the above property lots of to my wife Sally Swindell Viz the beads and furniture ___and chare kitchen furniture and chairs and horse carts at her decease I give to my son Oliver Swindell.

Item all my plantation and Moreunicals and blacksmiths tools I give in manner as follows to be quilly divided between my wife Sally Swindell and W. G. Swindell, Emmery Swindell and Oliver Swindell, Samuel Swindell and Thomas Swindell and Elisabeth Swaim and Mahala Swindell & Pryscla Swindell I also constitute and appoint by wife Sally Swindell and my son W. G. Swindell my exectrix and executor to this my last will and testament in witness where of I have here unto set my hands and seal this sixteenth day of April 1823.

He died between Apr 16 1823 and May 1823 in Hyde Co., North Carolina. He had an estate probated in May 1823. Robert Swindell was baptized in 1808.45 In 1808 he is listed as a member of the South Mattamuskeey Primitive Baptist Church He died in 1823.45 He left a Hyde Co. will dated 15 April 1823, probate May Court 1823 He signed a will on 15 Apr 1823 in Hyde Co., NC. Robert Swindell, Son of Josiah Swindell, Sr., was born 1755-1774. In 1808 he is listed as a member of the South Mattamuskeet Primitive Baptist Church. He left a Hyde County will dated 16 April 1823, probate May Court 1823. He was married to Sarah Emory in 1794 and had the following children. Oliver (d. April 1840. Maryland. Elizabeth Gibbs, daughter of Cason and Pheve Gibbs), William Glen (d.c. 1850, md Mrs. Janetta Swindell Sawyer, daughter of Joseph and Sidney Swindell, and had Emeline, Samuel, Sidney, Francis, and possibly Permelia - Janetta later married Samuel Sadler), Emory (d.c. 1844, Beaufort County, md. Ann L. Smaw), Mahala (b.c. 1800, d 26 September 1862, md. Thomas Baum and had Abraham, Samuel, Lindsay, Edward Stanley, Sarah Mann, and Josiah Blackwell Baum), Priscilla (md. Ormond Swindell who d.c. 1837), Samuel Lindsay (d.c. 1859, md Ann Mariah Harris, daughter of Jonathan and Cassandra Gibbs Harris, and had Cason Emory, Thomas M., and Emeline Swindell), Thomas D. (b.c. 1813, d April 1874, md. Sarah Credle Spencer and had Gameliel, Oliver, Sarah A., Phebe A., and Lindon Swindell), and possibly a daughter Elizabeth Swaim. Elizabeth Swaim received a full share of all his tools which would indicate that she was one of his children. He was married to Sarah (Sally) Emory in 1794. From an e-mail from Hannah Swindell

He was married to Sarah "Sally" EMORY in 1794. Sarah "Sally" EMORY was born about 1760 in Hyde Co., North Carolina. She died about 1820 in Hyde Co., North Carolina. Robert SWINDLE and Sarah "Sally" EMORY had the following children:
