Richard, Jr. Austin was born about 1632 in Bishopstock, Hampshire, England.
He died about Aug 1703 in Charlestown, Ma. He was a "Tailor". He
lived in Charleston, Mass. He was listed among those who shared in the division
of land by the town in 1658. He and his wife were admitted to full communion
in the church, 12 Jun 1670. He was admitted "freeman", 31 May 16781.
He was chosen "Clerk of the Market" in 1674 and from 1676 to 1696,
with the right to determine the price of wheat. Samuel W Balch writes that the
office of "Clerk of the Market" has been held by five of Richard's
descendents.
