160. Nathaniel Sr. AUSTIN was born on 20 May 1678 in Suffield, Hampshire, Ma. He died on 12 Dec 1760 in Suffield, Hampshire, Ma. Medical Doctor.

He was christened in "of Torrington, and New Haven, Connecticut. His name first appears in the Town Records of Suffield, Conn., having been chosen as a "Fence Viewer" at the Town Meeting, 02 Mar 1701/02, 08 Mar 1719/20. subsequently he was elected as a "Tithing Man" in the Town Meeting held 03 Mar 1706/07. Also as "Surveyor" at the Town Meeting of 01 Mar 1702/03.

At the Town Meeting held on 20 Mar 1747, it was voted "that Doctor Nathaniel Austin shall (when he has cleared this title to ye stream) build a Mill in the West Parte of town". At this time he already had one Mill as shown in the minutes of the Town Meeting held on 20 Mar 1747.
He was married to Abigail HOVEY on 17 Jan 1702 in Hadley, Hampshire, Massachusetts.

161. Abigail HOVEY was born on 8 Jan 1682 in Hadley, Hampshire, Massachusetts. She died on 9 Jan 1764 in Suffield, Hampshire, Ma. She has reference number 161. Children were:

ii. Thomas AUSTIN was born on 21 Sep 1705.
iii. Rachel AUSTIN was born on 13 Feb 1707.
iv. Mariam AUSTIN was born on 21 Feb 1709.
v. Aaron I AUSTIN was born on 7 Feb 1711. He died on 10 Nov 1712.
vi. Abigail Ii AUSTIN was born on 13 Jun 1714.
vii. Aaron II AUSTIN was born on 25 Feb 1715/16.
viii. Daniel AUSTIN was born on 28 Apr 1720.
ix. Samuel II AUSTIN was born on 24 Jul 1722. He died on 30 Dec 1744. Samuel had posted "Marriage Intentions" for Agnes Sikes 08 Jan 1742/43
x. Hannah AUSTIN was born on 5 Jun 1725.
