He died early in 1641 and his will was proved on 16th of April of that year. The New York Genealogy and Giographical Record of Oct 1910, pp 182-283, gives clues from English Archives contributing to American Gen. and it lists "Will of William Gyllett of Chaffcombe, Co. Somerset, dated 1641.
He had a brother mentioned in his will by the name of Richard. Information from Gale Bardwell Polley, he may of died at Tauton, Somersethshire, England.
Also there was a will, dated 1 July 1600 probated 16 July 1600 for Richard Gillett of Caudle Haddon, Dorset, Husbandman. He listed sons, Richard and William which would satisfy the Chronological and geographical requirements of the father of William. This gotten from Search for passengers of Mary and John 1630. Vol. 15. He died on 16 Apr 1641 in Chaffcombe, Somerset, England. Children were:

(11) He was baptized April 1623

Nathaniel Gillett was born about 1608 in Somerset, England.
(11) He had a lot that was on the West side and paralleled Jonathan's
his brother. Nathaniel joined the church at Windsor Aug 29, 1641. He was granted
50 acres of land near Simsbury on 12 Oct 1671, for his services in the Pequot
War. He died between 1688 and 1692 in Simsbury, Hartford, CT.

William Gillett was born about 1610 in Chaffcombe, Somerset, England.
(11) In fathers will; To my son, William the
next reversioner of said land, shall surrender his estate unto Thomas when requested
thereuto.
A Captain and served in the Irish Wars pf 1690-91, and was killed in the battle of Aughiumon 12 July 1691, proably in charge of the French Huguenots Cavalry. He died on 12 Jul 1691.
