Among the many surnames I am researching are Bolen, Heflin(g) Rainsberg(er), Riker(Riner)(Ryker), Staneart(Stayner), Still, Wells, and Whitten all of my Rainsberg line. Of my Strayer line I am searching for Ardner(Artener). Langenderfer, Lupp, MacPhealy(McFreely), McKim(McKyn), Miller(Mueller), Omlor(Omlohr)(Ohmlohr)(Ohmlor), Schwarz, Stutz and Strayer. The Rainsberg and related families lived mainly in and around Carroll Co. and Tuscarawas Co. Ohio arriving about 1800 and later. The Strayer and related families were in Seneca Co., Ohio about 1840-1850. I would appreciate any help you can give me. I have a lot of information to share. I have been stuck for many years looking for proof of the parents of my great-grandfather Adam Rainsberger(Born in Tuscarawas Co, OH Dec 12, 1821 and died in Ohio Jan 6, 1889) who was married to Mary Wells(Born near Baltimore, MD Jan 14, 1827 and died in Ohio March 21, 1893). It is possible that Adam was not his first name. It is suggested his parents were John Adam Rainsberger, who went by Adam, and wife Mary Riker(Riner)(Ryker). Church records were lost in a fire. Only known facts about great grandpa Adam are that he had at least 3 brother's one of which was named George. Adam was the only child to stay in the area. One is supposed to have moved to the Paulding area of western Ohio and one to possibly MO or KS but most probably to Iowa. Adam is also said to have had sister's. I really need help on this one and would appreciate ANYTHING.
