Richard of Bovingdon and Stoke Mandeville, born about 1479. His will dated, 1531, April 25, and proved October 11, of that year. The will of his wife Joan was dated January 12, 1536/37 and provedFebruary 7. Both are in the register in Peterborough. In Bovingdon Church, south side aisle of the nave, weas a breass tablet with the inscription:"Of your Charite, pray for the soul of Rychard Gold and his wife, Joan, deceased y day xxxix day of August an. 1531, whos soul Jehu pardon"
