My family research began with the mention of my father saying that I was a 4th or 5th generation Scot whose descendants help found the little town of Chesley Ontario. He also mentioned that my forefathers were from the Scottish Highlands. Upon some background checking I found that the Taylors were a sept of The Clan Cameron. The Camerons being appointed as royal archers to the British throne. Further checking led me to find that the Taylors were of signicant size that warranted them having their own tartan and family shield. History books have shown that these people were of a very proud heritage with fierce in-fighting among the Clans and later with the English for their independance. The medieval age has always facinated me and one of my brothers. Now knowing that we have our own tartan and family shield has made it that more intriguing to us. Perhaps me being the oldest of my brother and sisters has made it more important to me and leaving a piece of history with my off-spring. My father's sister has been able to trace some of our relatives on her mother's side but on her father's side remains some-what of a mystery to all family members as my grandfather spoke little of his forefathers. So what are mysteries other than a puzzle to be solved and thusly this what I hope to accomplish.
