He was a Haulage/Cartage Contractor after 1910. He was also known as William Herbert PETERS. Named as William Herbert PETERS in daughter's BC (Betsey). Elizabeth Peters' crem records show as widow of William Herbert PETERS. MC shows name as William Charles PETERS. 1984 : Daughter Betsey recalls he was a cartage contractor and stonemason (freemason?) with a business near Stepney. Apparently left his wife in 1890's with four children. Paid some maintenance for some time but not by court order. He was married to Elizabeth (Rachel) BYFIELD on 22 Apr 1889 in Islington Registry Office.

Age 88. Widow of William Herbert Peters, a haulage contractor. Cerebral thrombosis, post mortem without inquest. She was cremated on 3 Nov 1959 in St.Marylebone Crem. Memorial card shows cremated at crem aged 88. Crem has records.
