The Times 25 Apr 1883 reads "Francis Frank Pilbrow, alias Edwords [sic],
alias Captain Edards, alias Francis of Cheshunt Herts declared baknrupt. Hearing
to be held 2nd Mat, Edmonton.*
*FF's estranged wife Alice was also in Edmonton at the time.

(119) Charged with forging documents relating
to a quantity of timber to the value of £700. Case was dismissed but details
recorded in the Times - copy of the original on record. He was involved in a
court case in 1884 in Various Places.(120)
At Stratford, Francis Frank and "housekeeper" Elizabeth Day
were charged with various crimes. They were bailed for £100 each. All details
on record in file.
N.B. This shows that FF was living with Elizabeth Day from this time until they
married in 1909. FF's wife Alice had already left, the year before pregnant with
Ada Robina. Verbal recollection is that Alice left after FF was found in bed
with French Governess (Housekeeper). This seems to substantiate the claim, especially
as they eventually married in France. Strange that Elizabeth has such an English
name thought. He lived at 2 Stanley Road in 1884 in Ilford, Essex..

Described as a minor on MC and baths proprietor. Address given as Church St -
Whitechapel baths under owner ship of John.L.Pilbrow on 1871 census. FF Pilbrow
not in Church St on 1871 census. His father owned the baths according to his
will in 1873.
Michael Craig lists his property, or some of it: Hyde Park Corner; 5 St Leonard's
Road, Surbiton (now No 4) ; 9 Parklands, Surbiton; 105 Church Road, Richmond;
Lampton Road, Hounslow ; Buckingham House, Brighton Sea Front
"Elizabeth & FFP were at Stainswick Farm, B , Wiltshire AEWD ? see m
cert. 105 Church Rd had (& has) in stained glass over front door "Stainswick",
and when it was sold just after the war a Pilbrow (Dorothy's brother, Reg?) had
to sign as trustee."
