Notes for John (Jhon) Thomas Pilley Bacon:
Tombstone located in the Kinmount Cemetery reads: 1835-1897
Buried in family plot with his daughter Elizabeth Hannah and grand-daughter Pheobe.
In the same plot is Bessie Gale (John's grandson David's mother-in-law) and her stepson Albert.
The following information is from Mary Neggers, Lindsay, Ontario
From land documents we know: John TP Bacon lived in Notawasauga Twp. in July 1876 and had 3 sons and 3 daughters. A second land document shows he resided in Snowdon Twp. in November 1987
1881 census records show the following marked with *
JOHN*
FANNY
(1860) DAVID*
(1862) MILES
(1866) FRANCES JANE*
SARA*
JAMES
SARAH*
(1875) ELIZABETH*
(1876) JOHN*
(1877) WILLIAM*
(1880) THOMAS*
(1882) CHARLES
(1884) MARTHA
(1886) GEORGE
(1888) BESSIE
(1890) NINAH
From Charles on was not yet born in 1881 Miles and James did not show up in 1881 census. Miles would be age 19 and James would be age 7 or 8. In 1876 when they were still in Notawasauga the 3 sons would have to be David, Miles, James and the 3 daughters Jane, Sara and Elizabeth. This means Sarah and JTP had to be married up there because Elizabeth was from their union.

Information copied from Mary Neggers Files:
John Thomas Piley Bacon bought 100 acres for 50 cents on the Bacon Line. He also bought an additional 100 for David and 100 for Jack. Later the Martin place was also purchased. David went West and bought land in the fall of 1927 and Ethel and Wes followed later that year. A crop was planted the following spring. John Walter stayed in Ontario. Fanny went West years later (1952) Phoebe died in 1924. Millie married in 1930 and settled 8 miles away. Alf married and moved to a place beside Clark Manor.
The Martins left Ontario and went to Wainwright, Alberta. Mrs. Martin was David's Aunt (had to be his mother's sister or maybe his grandmother's sister). There was an Andrew Martin and an Arthur Martin on the Bacon's Line.
