Edward John Morris (son of John Morris and Elizabeth Hughes) was born 1820. He married Hannah Maria Bacon on 1841, daughter of Miles Bacon and Ann Eller Allin.

"John and Hannah Maria Morris are listed in the 1871 Ontario Census for Saugeen Twp., Bruce County with their children: Miles E age 20, John C age 17, James E age 15, William J age 14, Wesley age 12, David A age 11, Sarah Ann age 9, Martha J age 7, and Margaret S age 5. Their oldest son Walter age 24 was married to Caroline Saxbee on March 22, 1871in Southampton, ontario and is listed separately in the 1871 census for Saugeen Twp."
