William Walter McFry (b. January 31, 1848, d. August 16, 1934)

William Walter McFry (son of ??? Whitesides and Esther Jane McFry) was born January 31, 1848 in Benton Co. AL, and died August 16, 1934 in Cherokee Co. AL. He married Elander Lucinda White on February 08, 1873 in Etowah Co. AL.

Notes for William Walter McFry:
Born more likely in 1850. Says that he enlisted in Co. B 5th Al. Battalion Inf. in fall of 1863. Unable to prove .Family says he drew Confederate pension. Also unable to prove. Obituary says he was a Confederate Vet. Family says that he was accepted at the Confederate Reunions. He is also listed in the 1907 Confederate Census. Apparently enlisted as Walter Whiteside instead of McFry.

Died in Joe's store playing checkers with C. N. Thompson of heart attack.
