Obituary of Solomon W. Peek as found in the minutes of the Boiling Springs Baptist. Church in Milton Co. GA.

Died in Milton Co. GA at the place of his residence on the 21st of December 1858, Eld. Solomon Peek. Eld. Peek was born in Surry Co. NC. in 1771 and ??? a hope in Christ and was baptized at Grove Level Church in Franklin Co. GA by Moses Lander in the 24th year of his age and commenced preaching some five or six years thereafter and was ordained in Tesentee Church in Habersham Co. GA by Eld. Thomas Wilcox, James Riley and ??? Adams on the 27th day of December 1823.

Eld. Peek was a sound, faithful minister of the Gospel, opposing all the new inventions arising against the Baptist and contending earnestly for the faith once ??? to the South and was beloved and respected by the Primitive Baptist throughout his extensive ???. He took sick in the pulpit at Union Church while preaching on the first Sunday in Nov.1855. His disease was Typhoid Fever which confined him to his bed until the day of his death. He bore his affliction with patience and Christian fortitude, deserving to be absent from the flesh and present with the Lord, yet would say "thy will be done O' lord" and was firm in the belief of the Doctrine he had preached to the end and did in a full and bright prospect of a glorious ???.
