Co, OH.(91) Theodore's daughter, Myrtle
Dora, stated that his birthday is 5 October in her diary. It was previously
believed that he was born on the 6th of October.
He died on 29 Feb 1904 in Sangamon Co, IL.(8)

(93) The Cryder family bible had Theodore's death recorded as 1 March
1903/04. His death certificate says 29 February 1904.
The notice of his death appeared in the "Illinois State Journal", Springfield,
IL on 1 March 1904. It read as follows: "Crider, Died Monday afternoon,
February 29, 1904, at the family residence in Divernon, Theodore Crider. The
funeral arrangements have not been completed."
He was buried on 2 Mar 1904 in Brush Creek Cem, Divernon, Sangamon Co, IL.
(94) Theodore's gravestone does not have the
correct year of death. It says he died in 1903, while the death certificate,
and obituary, says 1904.
He was also known as Uncle Dore. The 1850 census shows Theodore as the 13
year old son of David and Rachel Cryder, living in Ross Co, OH. It is now known
that Theodore's mother, Mary Ann Downs, had died 5 Dec 1840. Rachel (Hunter)
Cryder was his step-mother.
Information received from Marilyn M. Cryder, researcher for the Delaware County
Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society, included extracts from the 1860 census
for Delaware Co, OH. Theodore is listed as a farmer, 23 years of age. His wife,
Ann is listed as well as two children, James (3) and Annette (2). His birthplace
is listed as Ohio.
On 12 October 1864, Theodore purchased 70 acres of property in Greene Co, IL
from a William J. Allen, for the sum of $2,000. 9 Mar 1867, Theodore sold 20
acres of this property to his father, David.
The 1900 census lists Theodore as born in Oct 1837, in Ohio, renting a home in
Harvel Village, Montgomery Co, IL.
He was married to Anna Cooper WARREN on 12 Nov 1856 in Delaware Co, OH.
23. Anna Cooper WARREN

was born in Dec 1838 in Ohio. She died on 5 Oct 1902 in Sangamon Co,
IL.(8)(95)
The Cryder family bible had Anne's death recorded as 26 June 1905. Her
death certificate says 5 October 1902. It is not known who entered the information
in the family bible.
She was buried on 7 Oct 1902 in Brush Creek Cem, Divernon, Sangamon Co, IL.
(96) Anna's gravestone does not have the correct
year of death. It says she died in 1905, while the death certificate, and obituary,
says 1902.
Their son, Fredrick, paid $10.00 for the grave plot on 10 Oct 1902.
Also known as Annie. Information received from Marilyn M. Cryder, researcher
for the Delaware County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society, included extracts
from the 1850 and 1860 census for Delaware Co, OH.
Ann is listed on the 1850 census living with her parents and family, as 12 years
of age, in Radnor Township, Delaware Co, OH.
The 1860 census shows Ann, 20 years of age, married to Theodore, with a personal
estate of $200 (equivalent to $2,900 in 1990 dollars). Her birthplace is listed
as Ohio. Ann and Theodore were living in Scioto Township, Delaware Co, OH.
1900 Census lists Ann as born in Dec 1838, in Ohio, renting a home in Harvel
Village, Montgomery Co, IL. and had 8 children, 7 of which were still living.

1857 in Delaware Co, OH.(97) He died
on 15 Jun 1908 in Edinburg, IL.(98) Obituary
of James Warren Cryder reads as follows:
"James Warren Cryder, a brother of Fred Cryder, of this place, died at his
home in Edinburg Monday, June 15th of cancer, aged fifty one years, two months
and twenty six days. The remains were brot to this place Tuesday evening on
the six o'clock train, and taken to the home of Mr. Fred Cryder. The funeral
was held Wednesday afternoon at the Baptist church when Rev. Howard preached
a very touching sermon. The remains were interred in Brush Creek cemetery.
A large number of relatives and sympathizing friends were in attendance.
"James Warren Cryder, a son of Theodore and Anna Cooper Cryder, was born
in Delaware Co, Ohio, March 20th, 1857. He removed to this state with his parents
when a year of age, and has been a resident ever since, taking an active part
in converting the wilderness into prosperous farming lands. In December 1902
he was united in marriage to Miss Pearl Plummer, of Pawnee, and to this union
were born two sons, James Warren, aged five and Ralph, aged two years, both of
whom survive. He also is survived by five sisters and one brother, Fred Cryder,
of Divernon; Miss Nettie Cryder, Mrs. Iva Hearin and Miss Ella Cryder of Springfield,
Mrs. Boyd McKinney and Mrs. Geo. Edwards, of Virden.
"The deceased was a thoughtful citizen, and loving husband and father and
enjoyed the confidence and esteem of a large circle of friends.
He was buried on 17 Jun 1908 in Brush Creek Cem, Divernon, Sangamon Co, IL.

birth state of Illinois.
