1016135878. Alpin King of Picts (1285) was born about 775 in Scotland. He Claimed the Pictish Throne before 834. He died on 20 Jul 834 in Galloway, Scotland. He Ruled Argyll abt 781 to 834.(1286) See history of the MacAlpine clan who tract their lines from Alpin of Galloway who died in 834, murdered after the defeat of the Scots by the Picts. Children were:

child i. Kenneth I MACALPIN King of Scotland and Albany was born about 795 in Scotland. He died in 860 in Scotland.(1287) He Ruled as High King of the Scots and Picts 843 to 860 in Argyll, Scotland. (1008) The Danes, already well-established through the Hebrides and on the mainland and supported with on-going North Sea crossings, battled with Alba’s Picts in 839 and utterly defeated them.  

The North of Scotland experienced a gradual population migration, under the Norse pressure, with the Scots of the west encroaching on the Picts of the east. 

Four years later in 843 Kenneth MacAlpin, son of Alpin, 34th King of Dalriada, asserted himself as the first King of the Picts and Scots.  He was christened in Galloway, Scotland. He was buried in Iona, Hebrides Isles. He was also known as Cinaed (Coinneach); King of Scots and Picts. United the Picts and the Scoti (Dailriada) from Munster (Ireland), and became King of the united tribes known as Albany (Scotland). 843 A.D. Kenneth I Macalpin was King of Scotland from 843 until 860.
