Pamela died of breast cancer. Zelma took care of her mother until she died. Zelma was 16 when she married Claude. Her Great Grandfather was full blooded Cherokee. She never talked about her people. She was very religious and asked all of her sons and grandsons to join the ministry. Coralee's husband Reuben became a minister. He was farming and Zelma wrote to him and Coralee telling them about her beautiful church and how wonderful California was. She asked Reuben to come out and be a minister, so they sold the farm and he became one. She also asked David (her grandson. But his wife Patricia said she would divorce him if he became a minister, so he didn't) and Dale (another grandson who did).
