Obituary for Rev. Reuben Tackett
A funeral was held May 5, 2006 at the Gospel Tabernacle in Ceres for its former minister, Rev. Reuben Austin Tackett, 99, of Modesto. He died Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at his Modesto home. Burial was at Acacia Memorial Park in Modesto under the direction of Salas Brothers Funeral Home. Born in Hot Springs, Ark., on Oct. 2, 1906, Mr. Tackett had lived in Modesto since 1944. He was a minister for Full Gospel Truth Church for 62 years. He was a member of Gospel Tabernacle, Ceres. He leaves behind his wife, Coralee Tackett of Modesto; two children, Gene L. Tackett of Modesto and Deon Tackett of Ceres; and nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren and on great-great-great-grandchild. Rememberances may be sent to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 1663, Modesto, CA 95354; or to the American Red Cross 1230 Sixth Street, Modesto, CA 95354.
