2. Uncle Bud (as we called him) had cancer. We later found out that he had sent Aunt Virginia to the store and he shot himself in the head (he wrapped a rug around himself so he wouldn't make a mess). I remember a wonderful vacation to Kellogg where he took us to a silver mine and pointed out a bear that ran across the road and then climbed a tree. He was very musically tallented and we were sad to hear of his death.
