He served as delegate to the convention that met in Fanuel Hall, Boston, in June 1776, In 1777 he was on a committee of ten chosen to care for soldiers wives and families. He died on Jul 4 1796 in Haverhill, Massachusetts. ⁽¹⁷⁾ He was buried in Old Broadway Cemetary. I have a photo of the Tombstone that is very hard to read:

Chase's History of Haverhill shows Jonathan Webster's house was evaluated at $125 in 1798, shich set it apart as one of the cheapest houses in Haverhill. Nine other Websters ownded houses which averaged $323, near the average for most houses in town.


Mentioned in 1747 in papers in state archives as a maker of hats. He was married to Abigail Dustin on Oct 25 1739 in Haverhill, Massachusetts. ⁽¹⁷⁾
