Jerry enjoyed riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles, cars, and street rods.

Died at St. Mary's Hospital from injuries resulting from an accident on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Jerry was interred in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. The "Mass of Christian Burial" was held at St. Partick's Catholic Church in Estherville, Iowa with Father Jerry Cosgrove presiding. Pallbearers were Steve Jensen, Weston Jensen, Scott Jensen, Jordan Jensen, David Jensen, and Dan Jensen. Music included "How Great Thou Art", "Be Not Afraid", "On Eagles Wings", and "Here I am Lord" and were sung by the St. Mary's Choir and St. Patrick's Choir which were accompanied by Glenn Henrikson, organist. Funeral arrangements were by Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home, Armstrong, Iowa.
Graduated from the Ringsted High School.
Received training as a welder at the Iowa Lakes Community College.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
