Died from cancer at The Finley Hospital.
Services were held at the Nativity Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Hoffman-Schneider Funeral Home of Dubuque.
He was ordained by Archbishop Leo Binz, D.D. at St. Raphael's Cathederal.
Paul graduated from Loras College.
Briefly served as associate pastor in Manly, IA. From 1957 to 1962 was the associate pastor at Ossian, IA. After a few months at St. Mary's Parish in Waterloo, IA, he was assigned to Wahlert High School in Dubuque, where he remained from 1962-1975.
He was transferred to Beckman High School, Dyersville,Ia and St. Joseph Parish in Farley, IA from 1975-1977. From 1977-1982, he was associate pastor at Nativity Parish, Dubuque, and then taught at Loras College until 1985. His pastorites included Jesup from 1985-1989; Nativity Parish, Dubuque, from 1989-1991; Raymond from 1991-1992, St. Joseph, Cresco and Plymouth Rock, from 1992-1995; Delhi, from 1995-1997; Holy Tirnity, Dubuque, from 1997-1998; and Bankston from 1998 until his death.
Degree was from Mount St. Bernard Seminary.
He graduated from Catholic University and did post graduate work at the University of Notre Dame.
