Ragnar was the daughter of a woman who immigrated from Norway after becoming pregnant with Ragnar the father refused marriage and she left to immigrate. She was refused entry into the US and after immigrating to Canada, crossed into the US. Her Daughter, Ragnar, met and married Johann Nelson in Minneapolis as it was too scandalous for a swede and Norwegian to marry in North Dakota.

Ragnar died from an infection as the result of Child Birth in 1916
