| This Web Site is dedicated to my branches of the Wheatley family of Southwestern Virginia. It is an ongoing work and any/all inputs are appreciated. Mistakes appearing here are probably the fault of the transcriber (me) and will happily be updated or corrected as information becomes available. This family is large (and currently widespread), but was once, in recent history, concentrated in this area of Virginia. It includes many surnames besides Wheatley, as many generations had far more daughters than sons. Our family has a rich history of military service to their country and/or home state back to the French & Indian War, and I will make reference to this often in these pages.
