For the better part of his life, he was a coal miner in the Broad Top, Woodvale area. Later in years he became a mechanic for various garages, to include Rife Motor's of Chambersburg, PA. Mother says on numerous occasions Lloyd and she would walk from Robertsdale/Broad Top to Cyrus Nead home at Cherry Grove.
