From notes from Maxine Hulsman, as relayed by daughter Carrol, Edward left the family sometime around the time that Edward Jr. was in the 8th grade, around 1928, but Gr-grandfather Edward was at home with the family in the 1930 census in Tulsa, Tulsa, OK.

Apparently, not well thought of by some family. Carrol had impression he may have been kind of a bum.
