Notes for L
LOYD WHIPPLE:
Lloyd was the youngest son of James Albert and Grace. Unfortunately, Lloyd was involved with an infamous family event. The creator of this page heard very little of the event as a child, teen and adult. It was rarely spoken of and now with nearly all present having passed, most likely the entire story will not be told. Only one person who was at the event is still living today and it is hoped she will soon write her remembrances. The newspaper account can be found at the State of Michigan Library in the microfilm section. The December 26 edition of The State Journal is what you'd look for to read that account. Evidently, Lloyd and sister Ellen along with her husband John Churchey were jointly involved with some farm land. A dispute arose and on Christmas Eve, Lloyd put a shotgun through a window and shot and wounded both of them. John eventually bled to death, while Ellen recovered. Lloyd was convicted and spent a long portion of his life behind bars. This was a very unfortunate event, one which was rarely discussed or mentioned. Lloyd was later released and as fate would have it, he evidently spent some of his later years living with Ellen in the Flint area. Ellen remarried at least once, to a Mr. Harry Ferguson.

Child of L
LOYD WHIPPLE and HAZEL PELTON is:
  i.   DORIS ANN8 WHIPPLE, b. January 03, 1948.
