SECOND GENERATION

10. Phoebe Wilcoxson⁽⁴³⁾⁽⁴⁴⁾ was born in Aug 1650 in Stratford, Fairfield Co., CT. She died on 20 Sep 1743 in Stratford, Fairfield Co., CT. She has reference number 10. Youngest child of William Wilcoxson. She lived with her husband in Stratford, and died there, aged 92. At the time of her death, her father's descendants were in their fourth to sixth generations and already numbered more than a thousand people.

She was married to John Birdseye on 11 Dec 1669. John Birdseye ⁽⁴⁵⁾ died in 1711. All Birdseyes who descend from John Birdseye, Sr. , immigrant ancestor of Stratford, do so through his son John Birdseye, Jr. and Phoebe Wilcoxson. Hence, this is another widely distributed colonial family whose members all carry the Wilcoxson strain. Phoebe Wilcoxson and John Birdseye had the following children:

73 ii. Mary Birdseye⁽⁴⁶⁾ was born on 2 Nov 1675 in Stratford, Fairfield Co., CT. She died on 17 Jun 1691.
74 iii. Sarah Birdseye⁽⁴⁷⁾ was born on 9 May 1678. She died on 1 Jan 1679.
+75 iv. Lieutenant Abel Birdseye.
+76 v. Joseph Birdseye.
77 vi. Elizabeth Birdseye⁽⁴⁸⁾ was born on 21 Oct 1685 in Stratford, Fairfield Co., CT. She died in 1692 in Stratford, Fairfield Co., CT.
+78 vii. Dinah Birdseye.

She was married to John Beach (son of John Beach and Mary Staples). John Beach⁽⁴⁹⁾ was born in Apr 1654 in Fairfield, Fairfield Co., CT.
