Mary Anne Fahy (b. 13 April 1845, d. 4 January 1911)
Mary Anne Fahy (daughter of Timothy Fahy and Mary Anne Whalen)10 was born 13 April 184510, and died 4 January 191111. She married Michael Coffey on Abt. 1863 in Cooma, NSW12, son of John Coffey and Mary Powell.

AN OLD MONARO IDENTITY.
In this issue we have to chronicle the death of an old and highly esteemed resident of Cooma, Mrs. M. Coffey, who was for many years well known as the proprietress of the Union Hotel. Mrs. Coffey, daughter of the late Mr. Timothy Fahey, was a native of Monaro, being born at Nimmo Station in the year 1845, and thus at the time of her death was aged 66 years. After her marriage to Mr. Michael Coffey, who died about eight years ago, she went to reside at Gegedzerick, afterwards removing to bobundarah and Middle Flat and finally to Cooma, where her late husband took over the Union Hotel, which was so successfully carried on after his death. Mrs. Coffey had been ailing for some time and had (been ailing f) received besides the medical attention of Drs. Scott Skirving and Harvison, the loving care of her children, having been nursed during the last month by her daughter, Miss Meliora Coffey, who is a trained nurse. The deceased peacefully passed away about 6.30 on Wednesday evening, the cause of death being disease of the liver, she being attended to in her last moments by the Rev. Fathers Norris, P.P., V.F., and Herlihy. She leaves a large family of eight girls and five boys, Viz.: Mrs. Thomas Mylan (Numaralla), Mrs. John Brosnan (Kempsey), Mrs. James Fletcher (Goulburn), Mrs. Edward Weaver (Sydney), Mrs. Walter Davidson (New Zealand), Nurse Meliora Coffey (New Zealand), and Misses B. and T. Coffey (Cooma), and Messrs. Joh (Bemboka), Michael (Countegany), Edward (Los Angeles, America), Peter (Tolbar) and Nicholas (Cooma) besides two brothers and three sisters living, viz. Stephen and Denis, and Mrs. T. Hanley (Lismore), Mrs. P. Mullane (Cooma) and Mrs. Culley (Ipswich, Q.), besides a large circle of friends and relations to mourn their loss.
The deceased lady will be missed in Cooma, she was well known for the kindly interest she took in all matters relating to the welfare of the town or district, especially in all charitable matters, and was highly esteemed and respected by all members of the community.
The funeral, which was very largely attended, took place this (Friday) afternoon, the cortege moved from St. Patrick's R.C. Church at 3 p.m. the iterment taking place in the Roman Catholic portion of the Mittagang Cemetery. The services at the graveside being conducted by the Rev. Father Norris, P.P., V.F. - May she rest in peace.
