John enlisted on Sept. 1, 1861, in company T, 1st Regiment of Tennessee.
He volunteered to serve 3 years, or during the war. He died March 6,
1862 of typhoid fever at Somerset, Kentucky.
He was a Union Soldier of the infantry.

Nazy applied for a pension after Reason died, on April 13, 1875. She was
living with her son Francis M. in the 1870 census, along with Samuel,
another son. This was in Clinton Co., KY.[2271980 des.ged]
