She was married to John THOMPSON. John THOMPSON ⁽²⁸⁾ was born in 1745. He died in 1825 in Alamance Co., NC. John & Ruth stayed to become the founders of the Scotch-Irish or "Red-Headed" THOMPSON line in the vicinity of Swepsonville and Haw Creek in present day Alamance Co. Ruth WOODY and John THOMPSON had the following children:

81 viii. Thomas THOMPSON⁽²⁸⁾ was born in 1790 in Orange Co., NC. He died in 1840 in Alamance Co., NC. Never married.
