99. Brice WOODY ⁽¹⁾ was born on 28 Dec 1805 in Roane Co., TN. He died on 11 Dec 1864 in Kingston, Roane Co., TN. ⁽⁹⁰⁾ Died of consumption - Tuberculosis He was buried in Dec 1865 in Roane Co., TN. Brice's son, Henry stated that his father was born in North Carolina on both the 1880 and 1900 census. This contradicts othe infor that says Brice was born in Tennessee.

Brice is first found in the U.S. census of 1840 in Roane Co., TN (pg.89, M704-535). The household contained one male 30-40 (Brice), one male 20-30 (a younger brother, Abraham or Elijah?), one male under 5 (Henry B.), one female 20-30 (Elizabeth), two females 5-10 (Jane L. and Mary) and one female under 5 (Delilah). One person in the household was employed in agriculture, and one was employed in manufacture and trade.

Brice owned $1000 worth of real estate and $700 worth of personal property according to the 1860 census. In Brice's household in that census was Mary Hood, age 60, born in TN. Who was she?

The cabin Brice built for his family in 1832 is said to still be standing on its original spot and the land is owned by descendents of Brice's son, Brice Jr., Ronald Woody of Knoxville

He was married to Elizabeth (Betsy) BOGART (daughter of Abraham BOGART and Jane LOONEY) on 31 Mar 1832 in Roane Co., TN. Elizabeth (Betsy) BOGART ⁽¹⁾ was born on 16 Feb 1813 in Tennessee. She died on 13 Aug 1879 in Kingston, Roane Co., TN. Brice WOODY and Elizabeth (Betsy) BOGART had the following children:
