ABINGDON, VA. Jan 11--Mrs. Margaret Ellen Otey, 79, died this afternoon at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Minnie Mahala on the Green Spring Road, near Abingdon.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mahal and Mrs. William Nunley, both of Abingdon: five sons, Levi and Gene Otey, both of Abingdon, Joe, Preston, and John Otey, all of Bristol: 51 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

The body is at the Henderson Funeral Chapel in Abingdon.

OTEY-Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Ellen Otey, 79, of Abingdon will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Mountain View Methodist Church, near Abingdon, with the Rev. Con Henley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers: Richard Russell, Wallace Smith, John Clark, Jack Jones, Leonard Blackwell and Jimmy Selfe. The body will will remain at the Henderson Funeral Chapel of Abingdon until one hour before services when it will be taken to the church. Mrs. Otey is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Minnie Mahala and Mrs. William Nunley, both of Abingdon, and five sons, Levi, Gene, Preston and John Otey all of Abingdon, and Joe Otey of Baltimore, MD.
