Jesse Madison Millwood (son of William Sprouse and Nicey Millwood) was born October 28, 1842 in Union county, South Carolina, and died December 16, 1923 in Cherokee Co.,Ga. He married Martha E. McGee on March 01, 1860.

He was in Confederate war for 4 years. The first time he came home Lou was crawling . He had a long beard. The children were afraid and hid under the bed and wouldn't come out. Lula use to comb his beard and hair and he would tell tall tales and make them laugh. One of his tales he would tell was that during the war he would pay 50 cents for a pie and when he would open it up to eat it would have a pile of puppies feet. He sold Watkins products after Martha died. He lived with Varner in Acworth. He took bowel trouble and couldn't get it checked. The above was told by Lula Mulkey his granddaughter.
