Notes for William Sprouse: In Andrew Jackson's Indian Claim, He states his mother was Nicy Millwood, His father is William Strass, but it is spelled wrong. He says his grandmother's name was Fanny and his grandfather's name was Detheredge. His great grandmother's name was Riller and that she was born and raised in Virginia. In 1840 she lived next door to William Sprouse and Andrew said they never married but that his mother lived with the children of whom there were six. In the Union county SC census there are several Millwood's living in Sprouse households and some Sprouse living in Millwood households.
