She married William Jervin Port on January 01, 1913 in Georgetown County, SC, son of S. (Tom) Port and Margaret (Louise).

If there has ever been such a thing as an angel on earth, it was my Grandmother, Adria Cribb Port. I never heard her raise her voice, say anything bad about anyone, or treat anyone with anything but kindness. She could always keep us quiet by telling us some of her "old wives tales" and she had plenty to tell. I just wish I would have recorded or written down some of the things she used to tell us. All during my childhood, I remember people coming from everywhere to bring their children for her to cure the thrash. Most of these children had been to doctors and when the medicine they were given didn't work, they would bring them to Mammy. She would swab the children's mouths with pinestraw, wrap the straw in some cloth and hang it in the chimney in the living room. When she finished swabing the mouths she would ask the parent a series of questions and if they did not tell the truth to every question, the cure did not work. She passed this knowledge on to one of my uncles, James Port, before her death. I remember going to her house every Sunday and before the children left to go home, she would go to her room and come back with a treat for everyone. At Christmas she always gave everyone in the family a two dollar bill. If I could have anything in life it would be to be more like my Mammy Port. When she died we found a letter I had sent her while on my honeymoon. She was the most special lady I have ever known and we were so very blessed to have her as part of our family.
