Mullins came to Pound, Russell (now Wise) County, VA prior to 1810.
Dr.
Jim was a noted hunter. He was an herb doctor, widely known as "Dr.
Jim
Mullins". He owned several slaves, some of their names being Sam,
Lewis,
Harriett, Lila and Ollie. On 5-Apr-1815 he bought 200 acres on Indian
Creek, Bold Camp and Pound Fork. Dr. Jim settled on the KY-VA border
of
the Breaks of the Mountains.
